Our directors
Herman Crowther – Managing Director
Herman is a certified SAP FI/CO consultant with a B.Comm. (Stellenbosch) and several project management qualifications. He spent twelve years in financial and IT management roles in the hotel, property and wine/liquor industries before founding the business in 2000.
He has a great interest in how businesses can streamline their processes and preserve knowledge as an asset. “Most of the knowledge in an organisation resides with individuals, making it hard to unlock its value so that future decision-makers can learn from it,” he says. Researching this led to Herman starting FirstCoast and realising his vision of helping companies turn information into accessible, shared knowledge. Within FirstCoast, Herman is dedicated to creating a productive working environment for his staff - and developing them to their full potential.
A nature lover who spends his free time exploring the great outdoors or travelling the world, Herman is also a keen runner and regular participant in marathons and road races.
Grant Stott – Director
Intrigued by how FirstCoast's products can help to improve business opportunities, generate revenues and save costs, Grant joined the company in February 2008. He relishes implementing ideas and making solutions work efficiently and effectively for his clients. “Providing value for money: that's what we do”, he says. Another reason Grant is proud to be on the FirstCoast team is that he believes firmly that the company is applying the true principles of BEE. Training, uplifting and improving the lives of their employees is FirstCoast's priority and all staff are taught technical and leadership skills.
A qualified chartered accountant, Grant's experience includes financial management in consulting, IT, media and telecoms companies in South Africa, Europe and the UK. When he's not at the office, you'll find Grant pursuing his passions: surfing, trail running and travelling.
